SmartBeat is a hypertension/diabetes self-management monitoring service offered by the Center for Connected Health to self-insured employers.  SmartBeat provides employees with anytime, anywhere access to self-management tools to improve blood pressure control, improve “real time” management of diabetes, and guides employees to make positive lifestyle and health behavior changes.  This service enables better clinical outcomes for employees and better financial outcomes for employers, keeping employees out of high-cost parts of the healthcare system.

SmartBeat, designed by the Center for Connected Health, was trialed at EMC Corporation between 2007-2008.  "We are pleased to team with Partners HealthCare to offer the SmartBeat program to our U.S.-based employee population.  The program is a natural extension of EMC's employee health management strategy to promote a healthy workplace and drive innovation and the adoption of new healthcare technologies.  This ultimately enables our employees and their families to more effectively manage their health," said Delia Vetter, Senior Director of Benefits, EMC Corporation.  To learn more about the trial, click here.
