The kit also includes a symptom chart based on a retrospective review of telemedicine clinic patients.  The portable lab is designed to facilitate improved health care by providing faster, easier, cheaper, and more reliable testing at field sites.  Since the introduction of  Lab-in-a-box in the remote villages of Cambodia, lab associated costs in the regional healthcare facilities have decreased.
