Cecelia Riley
Cecelia Riley is a 78-year-old grandmother of four, living in Boston, who suffers from heart failure. Cecelia was hospitalized twice and then was enrolled in the Connected Cardiac Care program. Each day, she transmitted her blood pressure, weight and other vital signs to a home care nurse, who kept an eye on Cecelia’s data and could intervene, should a problem be detected. The nurse called Cecelia each week, to give her feedback and valuable information to help Cecelia self-manage her condition.
"With my two bouts that put me in the hospital, I didn’t know anything until it was too late. Now, by monitoring my blood pressure, I know if I’m heading towards a problem and will hopefully avoid an emergency."
"Now I know what’s going on with my blood pressure, if it’s going up or down. Hearing from the nurse each week gives me a sense of comfort and helps to keep me on track. Every week the nurse gives me practical information about things I should and shouldn’t do, information I can use every day."
