Anne also spends her time mentoring UK businesses on how to commercialize their medical devices and technologies in the US market, and helping US companies understand the healthcare route to market in the UK.

Ted Blizzard is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the Massachusetts Medical Society and New England Journal of Medicine. Ted is responsible for all aspects of technology for the organization and was appointed the CIO position in 1997. Ted is currently a candidate for the Masters In Healthcare Informatics from Northeastern University and plans to graduate in September of 2009. Ted was a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his MBA in Finance from Wilkes University and holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management. Ted is a Board Member of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium. He is also a member of Health Level 7, ASTM International-Healthcare Informatics, American Medical Informatics Association and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Ted is a former member of the CIO Advisory Council for the State of Pennsylvania and he has spent many years as adjunct faculty member at Penn State University. Ted serves on advisory board of many healthcare related initiatives in Massachusetts and is involved with many local and national healthcare information technology projects. Ted served on the ASTM Steering Committee for the Continuity of Care record originally developed by the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Joseph F. Coughlin is Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AgeLab (web.mit.edu/agelab) the first multi-disciplinary research program created to understand the behavior of older adults; the role of technology; and, the opportunity for innovations to improve quality of life throughout the lifespan. He teaches strategic management and policy in both MIT's Engineering Systems Division and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Coughlin was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as one of 12 "pioneers inventing the future of aging, " and named by the Visiting Nurse Association as a "Home Health Hero" for his work in technology and home eldercare. He was recently named one of Fast Company Magazine's "100 Most Creative People in Business. " A Fellow of Switzerland's World Demographics Association and a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council, he works extensively with industry and governments around the world on product and service design for the 45+ consumer.

John Glaser, PhD, is Vice-President and Chief Information Officer, Partners HealthCare System, Inc. Previously, he was Vice-President, Information Systems at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Prior to Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Glaser managed the Healthcare Information Systems consulting practice at Arthur D. Little. Dr. Glaser was the founding Chairman of College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and is past President of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He is past-President of the eHealth Initiative and has been a member of the Board of the American Medical Informatics Association. Dr. Glaser is the Senior Advisor for National HIT Adoption for CHIME. He is a Senior Advisor to the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions. He is a fellow of HIMSS, CHIME and the American College of Medical Informatics. He has been awarded the John Gall award for healthcare CIO of the year. CHIME has established a scholarship in Dr. Glaser’s name. He was elected to CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame.. Partners HealthCare has received several industry awards for its effective and innovative use of information technology. Dr. Glaser has published over one hundred articles and four books on the strategic application of information technology in healthcare. He holds a Ph.D. in Healthcare Information Systems from the University of Minnesota.

Robert Hanscom is Vice President of Loss Prevention and Patient Safety for the Risk Management Foundation (CRICO/RMF). In that capacity, he supervises a staff of approximately 20 people who are responsible for analyzing malpractice claims and providing consultative services to the Harvard Medical Teaching Institutions. He is also responsible for the operations of RMF's external division, RMF Strategies, and oversees a business unit that provides risk appraisals, comparative benchmarking data, and claims management support for healthcare systems in other regions of the country. Prior to joining the Risk Management Foundation in 1998, he worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (1989-1993), then went to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts (1993-1998) where he was vice president of a number of clinical services, including the high-profile cardiac surgery program. Robert Hanscom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pacific Union College in California, and a Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University Law School in 1982. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Maine, where he worked as a litigator for six years (1983-1989). He came to RMF with a unique combination of legal expertise and a deep understanding of the issues affecting front-line healthcare. As he and his staff continue to extract "actionable themes" from malpractice claims, he uses those perspectives to build a compelling case for patient safety.

Jeanette Ives Erickson is Senior Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, Instructor at Harvard Medical School, Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, Visiting Scholar at Boston College, and Senior Associate at The Institute for Nursing Healthcare Leadership. Ms. Ives Erickson was awarded a fellowship in the inaugural cohort of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellows Program in 1998. In 2001, she was one of 55 successful women featured in Dr. Sylvia Rimm's New York Times bestseller, How Jane Won. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and was the first recipient of AONE's Prism Award in 2003 for the impact she had on creating a culturally-sensitive environment for patients and staff. While fostering nursing research within an interdisciplinary, professional practice model, Ms. Ives Erickson has developed new measures to evaluate innovations that influence professional nursing practice. Her tool, The Staff Perceptions of the Professional Practice Environment Survey is used to evaluate nurses' and other clinicians' perceptions of, and overall satisfaction with, the professional practice environment. Currently, this psychometrically-accurate instrument is being used by more than 25 healthcare institutions, in six countries, and has been translated into Spanish and Chinese. In 2007, she was appointed to serve on the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice. In 2008 she was designated Co-chair of the Sigma Theta Tau International Deans and Chief Nursing Officers Advisory Council.

Tracey Moorhead is President and Chief Executive Officer of DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance. DMAA convenes all stakeholders providing services along the care continuum toward the goal of population health improvement. These care continuum services include strategies such as health and wellness promotion, disease management and care coordination. Based in Washington, D.C., DMAA represents more than 200 corporate and individual members in promoting the role of population health improvement to raise the quality of care, improve health outcomes and reduce preventable health care costs for people with chronic conditions and those at risk for developing chronic conditions. Ms. Moorhead is recognized as a leading health care advocate with considerable experience in public policy and coalition management. She effectively directs policy formulation and strategic advocacy efforts, as well as represents the disease management community before the media, allied organizations and constituents, and all levels of government. Ms. Moorhead previously served as Executive Director of the Alliance to Improve Medicare (AIM), a bipartisan coalition advocating comprehensive Medicare improvements. As AIM's Executive Director, Ms. Moorhead coordinated and moderated educational and policy briefings for congressional staff: directed AIM's policy research, development and communications efforts: and developed grassroots programs in conjunction with AIM member organizations. In addition to her role with AIM, Ms. Moorhead served as Vice President, Government Relations, for the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC). In this role, she coordinated a nationwide grassroots outreach campaign to senior citizens and partner organizations to increase awareness and participation in new Medicare benefits.

Mr. Pieper is a Director of Biopure Corporation, a pharmaceutical company; Eclipsys, a healthcare information systems company; WorldCare, Inc., a global telemedicine company; CRICO, the Harvard captive professional liability insurer; and the Harvard Clinical Research Institute which supports clinical trials at several Harvard affiliates. He is a member and past director of the Financial Executives International. Mr. Pieper earned a BA from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Joseph L. Ternullo, JD, MPH, is Associate Director of the Center for Connected Health at Partners HealthCare System in Boston, Massachusetts. His responsibilities include enterprise-wide relationships within Partners, corporate collaborations, national and world-wide strategic alliances, and public policy. Founder and organizing Chair of a celebrated annual symposium focused on critical issues associated with connected health, Mr. Ternullo is a founding member and Board Vice President of the Continua Health Alliance. Joe serves on the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital institutional review boards. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Health Quality Partners and sits on the policy committee of the American Telemedicine Association and the national advisory board of the Center for e-Health Law. He is also associate director of the Northeast Telehealth Resource Center, a consortium operated through a grant from the US Office for the Advancement of Telehealth. He recently completed a term on the Chronic Care Workgroup of the American Health Information Community, the body that advises the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services on accelerating national development and adoption of health information technology. Joe holds degrees from Boston College, Boston University, Bentley College and Harvard University. He serves as adjunct faculty of the graduate Computer and Information Science Department at Northeastern University, where he teaches healthcare informatics law.

As Senior Director of Benefits and Programs Delia Vetter is responsible for creating and implementing benefits strategy, communications, systems and administration for EMC's organizations in the United States and Canada. Delia joined EMC Corporation in 1994 and has built a comprehensive benefits program focused on cost-effectiveness, innovative technologies, and health programs. She led the development of a cost containment health management strategy focused on employee consumerism, using leading edge technology to manage employee health and health care dollars, as well as to effect behavior modification. Actively involved in the healthcare marketplace, Delia serves on several Advisory Counsels such as Blue Health Intelligence Employer Advisory Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and several other Massachusetts-based health plans, as well as serves on the boards of New England Health Institute, Bridges to Excellence, New England Employee Benefits Council and is Vice Chair of United Way Tri-County in Massachusetts. Delia is a member of several organizations, such as Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the New England Health Institute Research and Policy Committee, the Human Resources Policy Association coalition on National Health Access, The Leapfrog Group, and The New England Employee Benefits Counsel.
