Susan Dimmick , University of Tennessee
Susan Dimmick is a senior communications consultant and project manager for Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). She has nearly three decades of experience in communications research and has evaluated telehealth programs funded by the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT)/HRSA/HHS in East Tennessee for nearly a decade. She also has evaluated the emergency communication efforts of HHS’ Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs during the 2005 Top Officials (TOPOFF 3) exercise in Washington, DC. She is part of a team that is assessing emergency preparedness for quarntinable diseases at major U.S. International airports. She also is helping to develop risk communication training and resources for grantees involved in the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network for the CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health. Dimmick is co-editor with Richard Wootton and Joseph Kvedar (eds.), of Home Telehealth: Connecting Care within the Community, (2006.) Abindgon, UK: Royal Society of Medicine Press, Ltd. She is author of “Home Telehealth Technology Applications for Shelter in Place and Quarantine Incidents” in the Home Telehealth: Connecting Care within the Community book. She also has authored many articles on telehealth outcomes and health care relationship management.
