Rushika Fernandopulle, MD, MPP, Renaissance Health
Rushika Fernandopulle, M.D., M.P.P. is leading an effort to redesign the process of delivering primary care. He has spent much of the last few years studying innovative practices across the country, and is a founder of Renaissance Health, an MGH affiliated practice trying to develop and test a revolutionary new model of care. He was the first Executive Director of the Harvard Interfaculty Program for Health Systems Improvement, an effort to leverage top faculty from across Harvard University and senior leaders in health care organizations to tackle the largest, most difficult problems facing the health system. His research activities have focused on many aspects of the U.S. health care system including racial disparities in care, clinical information systems, pay for performance, and the uninsured. Dr. Fernandopulle's prior positions include Managing Director and CMO of the Consumer Health Initiative and Managing Director of the Clinical Initiatives Center, both divisions of the Advisory Board Company, a Washington DC based research and consulting firm. Dr. Fernandopulle earned his A.B., M.D., and M.P.P. (Masters in Public Policy) from Harvard University completed his clinical training at the University of Pennsylvania and MGH, is board certified in internal medicine, and serves as an MGH attending physician.
