Robert Mandel, MD, Vice President of Provider Enrollment & Services, BCBS-MA

Robert recently returned to BCBSMA, from the MA  eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC) where he served as COO. Prior to this Dr. Mandel served as BCBS-MA Vice President of eHealth, where responsibilities included significant focus on eRx Collaborative and piloting medical decision support applications and other technologies offering the potential of improving the quality and efficiency of care delivery. Prior to being named vice president of eHealth, Robert spent three years as vice president of provider enrollment and services where he lead many of the organization’s administrative simplification initiatives. Robert also served as BCBS-MA vice president of health care services administration and medical information and as senior medical director of the Provider Partnerships Division.  Prior to joining BCBS-MA, Robert was vice president and CMO for Health Central, a PA provider-sponsored health plan.  Before that he served as vice president of clinical integration for Capital Health Systems. An ophthalmologist, Robert did his undergraduate work at Princeton University, obtained his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
