Paul Marchetti, Head of Network Contracting Services, Aetna

Mr. Marchetti joined Aetna in July 2005, as the Head of Network Contracting Services.   His responsibilities include the oversight and development of national contracting strategies and policies, Provider e.Services and Fraud & Abuse Audit/Recovery.   Prior to joining Aetna, he held several executive positions with United Healthcare from 2001 – 2005.   His most recent position at United Healthcare was as Senior Vice-President, Network Management with responsibility for the overall network management and unit/medical cost strategies in the Northeast market.   Prior to joining United Healthcare, Mr. Marchetti held the position of Vice-President, Network Management at Horizon Healthcare from 1998 – 2001, as was responsible for the corporate contract management, operations, strategy, business/network development, financial management, communication and policy implementation of the provider networks consisting of more than 35,000 PPO and more than 18,000 HMO providers.   Prior to joining Horizon Healthcare, Mr. Marchetti held the position of Director of Contracts/Network Development from 1995 – 1998, and was responsible for the general management strategy, network development, financial management and operations of the PHS/NY provider network.   Mr. Marchetti holds a master’s degree in health care management from the University of New Haven and received a B.S. in health care administration from Springfield College.
