Gene R. Sacco, MBA, Associate Director of Business Practices, Wyeth
Gene R Sacco and his wife Lorraine established the Reid R Sacco Memorial Foundation in May 2005 to serve as a vehicle to instigate and support scientific research directed at finding better treatments—and someday a cure—for the deadly cancers that predominantly strike adolescents and young adults. The Foundation is also a patient advocacy platform from which to share lessons learned on how to navigate gaps and failures in the medical system like the ones the Sacco's encountered while trying to save their son’s life. Of particular concern to Mr. Sacco are systemic barriers to effective and timely communication, which indirectly but ultimately reduce the quality of life of terminally or critically ill patients. Mr. Sacco has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. He is currently associate director of business practices development for Wyeth Biotech in Andover, MA where he integrates optimized business processes with new informatics technologies to streamline supply chain operations and automate performance metrics reporting. Mr. Sacco received his MBA from Northeastern University.
