Deepak Ayyagari, PhD, Principal Scientist, Sharp Laboratories

Deepak leads Sharp Laboratories of America Personal Healthcare Technologies project. Deepak has served on the board of directors of the HomePlug industry consortium.  His prior experience includes technical leadership positions in R&D and advanced product development. He was a research scientist developing broadband cellular data services (CDPD, IS 95, CDMA 2000 etc.) and wireless LAN technologies for GTE/Verizon. He was also the lead architect and designer for carrier class, residential broadband, high speed fixed wireless access systems for Broadband Access Systems/ ADC Telecom. He was the founder and CEO of Moksha Networks, a seed stage startup developing technology that integrated WLAN and cellular data technologies. Dr. Ayyagari received his PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Deepak's current research focus is on the development of innovative technologies for use in home and personal healthcare and wellness applications for the lay consumer. At the systems level, these technologies including clinical expert systems, patient user interfaces, sensor systems, advanced communications systems, low power platforms, data processing algorithms and architectures.  Deepak has over 17 publications in major peer-reviewed journals, 5 issued patents and over 20 pending filings.
