David Lansky, PhD, Senior Director, Health Program, Markle Foundation

David joined the Markle Foundation as senior director of the health program in 2004 and focuses on accelerating the adoption of interoperable health information technology throughout U.S., with an emphasis on ensuring patient control over their information and their full participation in health care system e redesign. He is Executive Director of the Personal Health Technologies Initiative.  For over 20 years, David has been a proponent of a more responsive and accountable health care system, and for years served as president of FACCT, the Foundation for Accountability. A nationally-recognized expert in accountability and quality measurement, David has served as board member or advisor to numerous health care projects and programs, including the National Quality Forum, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the National Patient Safety Foundation, the Leapfrog Group, and President Bush's 2002 Economic Summit. During the 1993-94 national health care reform debate, David was a senior policy analyst for the Jackson Hole Group . He led the Center for Outcomes Research and Education at Providence Health System where responsibilities included outcomes research, consumer satisfaction measurement, health risk and health status assessment, development of electronic member records, and communicating with purchasers and the larger community about health care quality.
