Albert J. Di Rienzo, SVP & CTO, Research & Development, Welch Allyn, Inc.

Al has contributed significantly to the advancement of commercial, military, and medical applications essential to society.  His career in industry includes R&D appointments at preeminent global technology companies.  As SVP and CTO at Welch Allyn, Al leads the Company’s worldwide R&D activities.  Under his guidance, development increased from 8 product releases in 2002 to 20 releases in 2005, all with increasing capability, complexity, quality, and performance. Committed to community service, Mr. Di Rienzo serves on the Syracuse University College of Engineering & Computer Science Dean’s Board, the Founding Committee for the School of Informatics at University of Buffalo and the Continua Health Alliance Board.  He is active in IEEE, the Mathematical Association of America, the Product Development and Management Association, AdvaMed Digital Health Information Sector, Association for Computing Machinery and the Central New York Medical Technology Manufacturers Association.  Al is a Software Engineering Institute Partner and the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Medical MindXchange Most Valuable Thought Leader. He is degreed in Computer Science from Old Dominion University.
