Penny Ford Carleton, RN, MS, MPA, MSc is currently Program Director, Point of Care Technologies, at CIMIT, Clinical Consultant to the Center for Connected Health and a Research Associate at Harvard Medical School. She has held a diverse portfolio of positions, including Associate Director of Partners Research Management, Bedside Technology Specialist in the MGH bioengineering department and Cardiovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist at MGH. 

Over the past 30 years, she has participated in the development and dissemination of multiple enabling technologies in health care.  These technologies span the continuum of care from the intensive care unit to the ambulatory practice of the future to the home.  She has lectured extensively on topics related to physiologic monitoring and technology development and has written multiple articles, chapters, and abstracts on these topics. As a consultant on the MGH bioethics team and as a hospice volunteer, the impact of technology on the lives of patients and families is an area of great interest. 

She holds a masters degree in cardiovascular nursing from University of Michigan, an MPA from Harvard University, and a masters degree in Palliative Care from University of London.
