Dr Watson is responsible for managing research activities and program evaluation at the Center for Connected Health. The Center is currently running several randomized controlled trials to assess the benefit of utilizing connected health technology in improving health outcomes and efficiency of care delivery. Once trials are transitioned into programs, Dr Watson provides ongoing input to evaluate the impact of the program on patients and providers. Dr Watson is also responsible for training and mentoring all members of the research team.
Dr Watson is interested in ways to improve health care quality for patients with chronic disease, with a focus on interventions to improve medication adherence and provider decision making.
Prior to working at Partners, Dr Watson worked as a physician for the National Health Service in Scotland, UK. She completed training in Internal Medicine and attained membership to the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2003. She then went on to train in dermatology, leaving the UK in 2005 to take up a dermatology research fellow position at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is currently an Instructor in Dermatology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr Watson recently received her MPH from Harvard School of Public Health and graduated MBChB with honors from Edinburgh medical school in 2000.
